If there's any justice in this world...

...then Fitzgerald's refusal to comment on whether Rove has been/will be indicted means something significant.

I am hoping for one of the following:

  • Luskin's claim that Rove received a letter indicating he will not be charged with a crime in connection to Plamegate is untrue, or
  • even better, it is true, but the investigation turned up something even more incriminating which will lead to a more serious indictment unrelated to Plamegate.

On an unrelated note, I can't help notice how much energy people are expending lately on trashing John Aravosis and Americablog. My readers may already know that I have stopped linking to Americablog in the wake of several meltdowns by Aravosis, so I'm not about to start defending him. But why are so many of his detractors seemingly spending all their waking hours reading and writing about Americablog? Several blogs have emerged recently that are devoted entirely to criticizing, lampooning, smearing, and/or attributing spurious quotes and opinions to Aravosis without substantiation. Enough already! If you don't like Aravosis, don't read his blog! Don't waste time fighting him that is better spent fighting fascism.

Today's listening:

  1. The Wrens: The Meadowlands
  2. Frog Eyes: The Golden River
  3. This Mortal Coil: It'll End in Tears
  4. Yaz: You and Me Both
  5. The New Pornographers: Twin Cinema
  6. M. Ward: Transistor Radio
  7. Six Organs of Admittance: The Sun Awakens

One thing we do know is that Rove turned over - or pointed to - a whole stash of emails (their location) that showed Cheney/his office deliberately tried to hide them/destroy them.

I don't know if Fitzgerald's silence means anything. My grandest wish is that Cheney is the indictment. But, despite all the rules of order concerning a grand jury, I don;t believe Fitzgerald would have kept silent if Luskin's announcement were untrue. He could respond without saying anything other than "such letter was not sent by this office" giving away nothing about what he plans to do or not to do.

As for Aravosis and the energy expending of others... This is news to me. I haven't seen anything about him since the "He's a big girl" meltdown after we both left. Maybe it all comes down to that accounatbility issue that seems to be epidemic in our culture. Watching him over the years, it seems to me that what he really wants is to be the left's Ann Coulter, but he lacks the conviction and the intellectual curiosity required to be truly informed. Remember, he worked for Ted Stevens until he got outed.

He just keeps pissing off everyone and then acting like a two-year-old when they call him on it, so his enemies list gets bigger and bigger and bigger. Maybe he's just pissed off too many people these days. Who knows? It's funny how addicted I was to AmericaBlog, and how rarely I even think about it now.

I hadn't thought about the possibility that Rove is actually serving up a bigger fish. Seems contrary to his nature. It would be fantastic if he ended up testifying against Cheney though.

My rant was in regard to a particular blog (which I'm not going to link to) that has stopped reporting on actual current events and now posts entirely about Americablog and what Aravosis has done or said to upset him or others. He has links to several other blogs that are pretty much the same. Unfortunately, he has also included this blog (and yours) among those links. I thought about politely asking him to remove his link to my blog, but I decided against it for now. I wrote this post so the traffic coming from his site will see that, while I know Aravosis is a tool, I don't think he's worth the kind of time and effort that some have been putting into hating him.

Oh, I know exactly who you're talking about.

I do a lot of bitching on my blog, but there's so much more to think and talk about. Even beyond the fascism, I think.

Woody Guthrie is a perfect example.
